engagement session under the rain

Sharon & Lucas asked me to be their wedding photographer next May. I had only met Sharon during our first meeting and the engagement session let me spend some time with the bridal couple before the wedding day. So we shot their engagement session under the grey sky of Luxembourg.

A stroll from Clausen to Grund to start the engagement session

We met in Clausen for a nice stroll along the Alzette river. I like starting the engagement session with a walk so that I can chat a bit with the bridal couple and get to know them a little more. It helps loosing up the atmosphere and put everyone at ease.

This walk took us all the way to the Grund, the old neighbourhood of Luxembourg-city. We did a few portraits and a couple of ‘Save the date’ photos using my slates. It’s always a fun moment. Especially when the fiancés don’t look at each other’s slate so that they don’t know what the other one is writing. They only find out when they receive the photos ! I’ve noticed though that most Luxembourgish couples write in ….. luxembourgish, so I have no idea what’s written :).

Sharon liked one of the engagement sessions I’ve shot a few months ago in Luxembourg, the one with a heart-shaped candle lit by the couple. So she managed to find the same kind of candle on the web and she asked me to shoot a similar photo.

As we had to wait for darkness, we decided to go have some drinks in one of the numerous pubs of the Grund area before walking towards the Guillaume II square.

A few photos under the rain, Guillaume II square

Our walk ended up on the Guillaume II square and we shot a few pictures under the rain. I had brought my flash in order to give photos a special effect. We lit the candle to end the session in a romantic way 🙂

In a couple of months it will be their wedding day and also the  very first time I shoot a wedding in the town of Alzingen…. where I actually live !
